QUAINTON EMAIL LETTER 01.11.2017

EXECUTIVE CHANGES

A member of the executive has resigned their position and stepped down from their role.

As Chairman Ben Jackson would like to record very sincere thanks from the Executive to David Aplin, who stepped into the breach as Acting Chairman although already carrying the load as Treasurer, and who brought in a great many positive and necessary changes upon which the Centre has built and will continue to do so.

For the immediate future Peter Lovegrove will be 'acting' Treasurer as well as Vice Chair and there will be a finance sub committee created consisting of the 'Treasurer' (Peter for now), the Bookkeeper (Sarah Neale), Executive member Richard Cummings and a.n.other as yet to be identified that will oversee the finance, reporting to the Executive with a watching and advising brief.

There are now 2 vacant positions on the Executive and if anybody has any interest in either of these please ask in the office to be contacted by an existing Executive member. These places can only be filled until the next AGM and any one co-opted would have to agree to stand for election and be nominated etc by the 31st of January 2018.

MISSING ITEMS

There are a growing number of items 'mysteriously disappearing' around the site, lamps as per previous QEL's, paint in the down yard shed, tools from 6989 stores and two full size faux sheep from VAMES are all among items reported to date. (Yes sheep!)

If you have borrowed anything and just feel it is too late or embarrassing, to return it, or are unable to remember where you borrowed it from, then please just return it, leave it by the office or in a mess room, but please return it. It wastes time, energy and money trying to track things down or to buy replacements and breeds suspicion and mistrust which is far from good for anyone.

The matter of 'things going missing' will be on the Agenda for the next Executive meeting and it is hoped that some of the missing items may have re-appeared by then and it will prove unnecessary to consider upping security, diverting resources to adding additional locks or changing existing ones and thus inconveniencing active members going about their tasks as a result.

On a separate matter the items that were reported on the QRS Members Only Facebook Group as stolen from a locomotive in the down yard shed have been returned and the matter is resolved.

THE LATE RAY HORSLEY

There is no news yet on a date for the funeral of the late Ray Horsley.
