BEV IS TRYING TO FILL HER ROSTER

"Hi all,

7th March was Andrew Bratton's wake at Quainton Road the sun shined and Andrew had a good send off, it was very fitting that a lot of people attended and all the family were very pleased. Andrew will be very missed.

We are looking for more help on the Commercial Roster and Crew Roster please see below.

Car parkers are needed to assist Ben Jackson on all 4 days over Easter - April 14th, 15th, 16th & 17th.
Gate staff for 16th April (Sunday)
We need Platform Staff for all 4 days and Imagination Station people all 4 days.

CREW ROSTER

We are looking for a Guard for a wedding on Saturday April 8th 12.45 to 3 p.m. and Sunday April 9th for a Driving Course.

We also need a Driver & Fireman for the Vintage Train on Sunday 9th April as we have a group coming as well as public visitor rides.

Please look at the roster and phone us if you can help lend a hand to keep earning money to support OUR railway. I am always grateful for everything you do.

Come on people we can do this.

Regards,

Bev"

EMERGENCY SERVICES DAY

As part of our Fire Engine Rally, a 2 day event this year on July 22nd & 23rd, Emma in the Office tells us that there will be an Emergency Services Day.

Emma explains-

"We would like someone to represent the Railway at our Emergency Services Day on Saturday 22nd July. We think this would be a good opportunity to have a volunteers stand to see if we can recruit some more enthusiastic volunteers.

Historically the event has been held at Waddesdon Manor. This is our first year and if it is a success it could be a regular thing. It is being organised by the local Waddesdon constabulary with help from us.As well as what we would normally have at the fire engine day all types of emergency services have been invited from ambulance, police with their dogs, possibly air rescue and Army. Local charities have also been invited. There will be also be a chance to see vintage vehicles once used within the services.

If any of our members know anyone who has any vintage vehicles - old police cars etc please let myself or Louisa know. We will be reducing the entrance to £5 a head for all on the Saturday (it was free at Waddesdon)."

Again, you can contact Emma on 01296 655 720 or by email on office@bucksrailcentre.org

WORK WEEK

Terrifyingly, this is now just two days away! Yep, its next week! There is lots to do to ready the Centre for the forthcoming season - and hot meals are available every day, not forgetting the invaluable daily tiffin, of course! Just get your name on the list by 11am each day, please. Come and join us be it for one day or more. If you are a member who has yet to volunteer and, maybe, feel a bit apprehensive then this is a really good opportunity to meet the rest of us in a relaxed atmosphere without any of the pressures presented on an open day as we are closed to the public all next week. Just announce yourself at the office in Rewley Road and we will go from there.
