QUAINTON EMAIL LETTER 7.2.17

A Reminder of some dates

The steaming season pops up for half term week this coming Sunday 12th, Wednesday 15th and Sunday 19th then pops off again until the season proper starts on Sunday 2nd April.

Work week is Saturday 18th March to Sunday 26th March

Other news

Emma, our Functions Manager, has been busy generating new things for us - see the EVENTS page. New things, of course, means more revenue for those coffers though with things like forward booked weddings not all the money flows in straight away but in stages.

I must apologise to Emma for not putting this out much earlier when she first sent it to me. I prefer to put at least 2 items out together rather than single ones.

Brian Amman is seeking some help with wiring his interesting train describer display up. When its all up and working it is going to be a great thing to see and he has been working hard on it for a long time.

Do get in touch if you can help, please. See Metroland News and Wembley Info Photo

Our member, Bob Frise, has highlighted that the Post Office will publish a new set of 6 stamps entitled Mail by Rail. They will come out on Wednesday 15th February

Bob has also discovered that the railtour, due through Quainton non stop on Friday, will now be topped & tailed by DRS class 68 diesel locomotives and not with the steam locomotive first thought. He surmises that this might be due to gauging issues.
